Born in Rome, at the age of eight Rossano Baldini began studying piano, which led to a Bachelor of Arts at the St. Cecilia Conservatory of Music in Rome. In his educational path, he studied with Antonio Valente and Franco Medori (classical music), Franco D’Andrea, John Taylor, Kenny Werner and Stefano Battaglia (jazz and improvisation). Parallel to the musical studies, he deepened his interest in cinema by enrolling at the Roma Tre University faculty of DAMS (Disciplines of Arts, Music and Performing Arts) where he graduated in 2007. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles where he began his professional career alongside composer Carlo Siliotto and producer Ignacio Elisawetsky.
As a soundtracks’ composer, Rossano Baldini wrote for cinema and television. His latest cinematographic works are the soundtracks of 500 Calories directed by Cristina Spina, Nel bagno delle donne by Marco Castaldi, Il Principe di Ostia bronx by Raffaele Passerini, Queen Kong by Monica Stambrini, Tutti i rumori del mare by Federico Brugia, Push by Loris Lai.
For television, since 2017 he collaborates with the Rai3 TV show Presa Diretta for which he scored and produced original music for the episodes Processo alla ‘Ndrangheta (Season 24, Episode, 6), Troppa carne a buon mercato (S24, E2) La Ripartenza Verde (S23, Episode 5) Mai più eroi (S23, E2), Il Polmone Blu (S22, E6), Vertenza Italia (S21, E7), Costarica: la rivoluzione verde (S20, E8), La caduta dei giganti (S20, E2), Caldo Artico (S19, E2) winner of the national award for the scientific divulgation “Giancarlo Dosi”, Appalti fuori controllo (S18, E2), Belli e immortali (S17, E4).
For Rai3, in 2018, he composed the original music of the docu – series Voci di una terra, directed by Federico Cataldi.
As a recording artist, Rossano Baldini released two records for the Japanese label Albòre Jazz Records which produced his first solo piano album It Won’t Be Late (2012), followed by Light in 2015, featuring Pierpaolo Ranieri, Michele Rabbia and Gianluca Petrella.
In 2020, the label ConcertOne has released an anthology of Rossano Baldini’s music for cinema entitled Crime And Desires and the original soundtrack of the movie 500 Calories.
In 2021 he created his electronica persona/project HUMANBEING, for which he wrote, composed and produced the self-titled debut album released by the London record company RareNoise Records.
As a live musician, since 2015 to 2020 he’s been part of the Nicola Piovani sextet La musica è pericolosa and keyboard player for the theatrical show La Vita Nuova.
Since 2012, he collaborates as a soloist, pianist and keyboard player with the orchestras Roma Sinfonietta, Orchestra Italiana Del Cinema and Orchestra Dell’Accademia Nazionale Di Santa Cecilia.
Over the years, he also played in concerts with Luis Bacalov, Josè Carreras, Steven Mercurio, Franco Piersanti, Timothy Brock, Giorgio Canali, Fabrizio Bosso, Spiritual Front, Carly Paoli, Michele Rabbia, Andrea Morricone.
As s studio musician, Rossano works alongside various composer as a pianist, keyboard and accordion player. Among others, Nicola Piovani (Il traditore, A casa tutti bene, In arte Nino, L’indomptée, Le confessioni, Assolo, Romanzo siciliano, Eduardo e i burattini, Una gita a Roma, Hungry hearts, La trattativa, Sogno di una notte di mezza sbornia), Carlo Siliotto (El dìa del temblor, Without men, L’assalto, Mister Ignis, Il caso Enzo Tortora, Mia madre), Alessio Vlad (Lacrime di sale), Francesco Cerasi (Figli de destino, I nostri figli, Aldo Moro il professore, Ricchi Di Fantasia, Il Capitano Maria), Andrea Guerra (Ma cosa ci dice il cervello, Scusate se esisto!), Lele Marchitelli (Come la prima volta, Loro, Il mondo sulle spalle), Rocco De Rosa (Le nozze di Laura), Giovanni Rotondo (Il confine).
Since 2017, he is a Bercandeon Ambassador, a free reed aerophone instrument with double keyboard, created by Fiorenzo Bernasconi and produced by Teknofisa.
